Service Description

One 50-minute virtual session with Lisa Musca, LSW Lisa is an experienced pet loss counselor and veterinary social worker, who has worked in the fields of academia, veterinary medicine, social work, as well as psychiatry and therapy over the last two decades. As a veterinary social worker, Lisa has worked with families and individuals facing difficult treatment and end-of-life decisions for their pets. She believes it is a privilege to be present for the human at “the other end of the leash” as they honor and grieve their beloved companions. As a dedicated “dog mom,” Lisa has personally experienced and worked through the difficult emotions associated with losing one’s best friend, and is passionate about helping others as they navigate the challenges of the pet loss journey.


Cancellation Policy

Please note, since the scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time set aside especially for you, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required for rescheduling or cancellation of an appointment. If for any reason a session is canceled less than 24 hours prior, the full fee will be charged. Purpose of Individual Support Sessions Pet Loss Community Individual Support Sessions are educational and supportive private sessions designed to help participants learn coping strategies, explore grief-related topics, and connect with a professional who understands the experience of pet loss. These workshops focus on guidance, learning, and emotional support in a private setting. Not Therapy or Counseling Individual Support Sessions offered by Pet Loss Community are not therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment. Participation does not create a therapeutic or clinical relationship with the specialist or organization. If you are experiencing significant emotional distress or need mental health care, please reach out to a licensed mental health provider or contact your local crisis line. In the U.S., you can call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (available 24/7). Confidentiality Expectations Specialists will keep participant information confidential except when legally required to report: Threats of harm to self or others Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult Court-ordered disclosures Participation and Boundaries Individual Support Sessions are voluntary experiences. You may end the session at any time if you need a break or do not wish to participate. Individual Support Sessions do not include diagnosis, treatment planning, crisis intervention, or individualized mental health support. Specialists may suggest additional resources if your needs are beyond the scope of a support-based session. By scheduling an appointment, I acknowledge the inherent risks and voluntarily assume full responsibility for any injury, damage, or loss that may result from my participation. I hereby waive and release Pet Loss Community, its owners, and its staff from any and all liability, past, present, and future, relating to the services provided.
